Today we are working with our district representatives around the country to advocate for creators’ rights and supporting laws that protect our music community!
Key bills include The RAP Act HR 2952 that protects our First Amendment rights and limits the use of artist’s lyrics as evidence in criminal proceedings;
The HITS Act HR 1259 That incentivizes the creation of new music by amending the tax code so independent artists and songwriters can fully deduct the cost of new recordings and song demos to their taxes immediately;
The TICKET Act HR 3950 that addresses the many predatory practices to drive up ticket prices and deceive customers by regulating and restricting bulk resellers and bots and providing real transparency.
Thank you Rep. Adam Smith for your continued support over the years with not just 206 Zulu, but the arts community, disability community and more. Your leadership in these efforts are vital and emmense! 🙏🏼✊🏼
