I was especially excited to meet the triple OG Hip Hop pioneer from Japan, the legendary DJ Yutaka!!

Hustle & Soul Award

Thank you Hustle and Soul for recognizing 206 Zulu’s contribution to the dance community in the Nortwest!! This means so much to the org and to me personally. As a wheelchair user who does NOT dance, I’ve always found freedom in watching people move. Expression in its purest form. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to see so many of the best dancers all around the globe, and it just energizes my soul deeply. We love the dance community and do all we can to provide space and nurture the scene. We do it unconditionally, for the community and the culture. So when the community gives us flowers, this is truly special. We give thanks!! 🙏🏼

Also, I want to give unending gratitude to Alonzo Ybarra, Kitty Wu, Georgio Brown, James D. Big Win for Airline Accessibility!

I’m thrilled to know that our efforts were finally heard! We were able to implement provisions of the Air Carrier Access Amendments Act into the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill, which was recently signed by President Joe Biden. This is a huge step in making airline travel more accessible for many. Thank you Rep. Dan Newhouse, Rep. Adam Smith, Rep. Marilyn Strickland, Sen. Maria Cantwell, Sen. Patty Murray, United Spinal Association for championing this, and all the public servants, incredible orgs and individuals who stepped up to make this happen!
