Return of a MAD Instrumental Album

In celebration of my brother-in-beats Thirdeyebling’s bornday, we are dropping the instrumental album of “Return of a MAD” today! This album, entirely produced by Third Eye Bling (except “The Return” by yours truly), was originally released in 2022 and featured an array of guests such as Abstract Rude, Afu-Ra, Def-i, Julie-C, Kurtis Blow Walker, Moka Only, Myka 9, Percee P and Revels (RIP).

What an incredible journey it’s been that year. That year began in France as the pandemic was in full swing. Two months in Paris was an absolute dream and I returned on a high as “Return of a MAD” dropped and received overwhelming support. It was the first time receiving such widespread radioplay, playing on dozens of stations and peaking favorably on a handful of respectable charts.

The dream turned to a sobering nightmare as my father suddenly passed. Then just days later we embarked on a two-week West Coast tour with Abbey Rizz and friends. I honestly don’t know how I got through it, but I suppose the time on the road to reflect, the smiles and the positive energy, it was all medicine needed in a time of unimaginable despair.

The rest of the year was a never ending flurry of traveling, events, performances and studio sessions. It’s funny (and sad) the only way I can possibly remember everything is looking back at the photos on my phone. One thing I will never forget however, is sharing vows with my love in November. I know my dad was there, and the taiko drums called him.

“Return of a MAD” was more than just a project in 2022. It was a soundtrack to life in a time I could have never imagined. It marked a beginning of a new era. And I’m beyond grateful for all the support, all the love and all the lessons on the way. And I’m beyond grateful to have my guy Third Eye with me every step of the way. Through thick and thin. Happy solar spin brother. I know Jamal is looking down proudly.

The Big Ugly Bill is a disastrous display of corruption on the highest of levels. However, if there is any good to come from it, there is the passage of the HITS Act.

The Help Independent Tracks Succeed (HITS) Act is a tax relief for independent artists and songwriters by allowing up to $150,000 in music production costs in the year.

There are many people to thank for this, but I wanted to extend a personal thank you to Rep. Jimmy Gomez who spent time with us, listened, and signed on- we thank you!

And thank you for your leadership here in LA, with all of the absolute lawlessness going on, you have been on the frontlines fighting for our constitutional rights.
